Vancouver's Median Income by DA

This webpage is meant to present the process and results of a GIS project that aims to explore the relationship between different markers for academic achievement and income. Using the public schools of Vancouver British Columbia as a study area, these variables were analyzed. Using the assumption that low gender gaps are a positive attribute for schools and that high average exam marks are also positive attribute, we hypothesized that the magnitude of the gender gaps for both English and Math will decrease as the average exam mark increases. The presence of high income neighbourhoods and school catchments is expected to result in the appearance of the positive attributes.
